Orissa Government to set up Knowledge Corporation

Orissa Government likely to set up Knowledge Corporation in collaboration with the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation (MKC). This was said by Higher Education Secretary, Chandra Sekhar Kumar.
He said a delegation of the state government to visit Maharashtra soon to study the management and functioning of their Knowledge Park. Kumar said the administrative approval for the establishment of the Knowledge Corporation was obtained and the Finance Department also given its nod . The proposed corporation would be set up in Bhubaneswar, he said. Kumar said that the MKC had evinced interest to help the State Government to establish the project for which , the corporation authorities had given a power point presentation . The proposed knowledge corporation would function with a Board of Directors, the Chief Secretary being the chairman of the Board. However, one expert member from the MKC would remain as Managing Director of Odisha corporation which would have six other independent expert members .
As per the proposal, while 30 per cent funds would be shared by the State Government, MKC would invest 30 percent, ten percent by School and Mass Education and rest would be invested by other share holders. He said the Knowledge Corporation would ensure quality education from primary to university level with the provision of e-learning, online examination provision.
