Life takes a great step when enhanced with a hearty touch. So does self help group and voluntary organization help us in shaping the lives of many deformed ones. A group of young broad minded enthusiasts, veterans in different fields joined together and floated a non-governmental and non-profitable charitable trust named as Juga Jyoti Sevak Sangha in year of 1997 with the overall goal of empowering the oppressed and downtrodden communities especially the women and children and tribe.
Juga Jyoti Sevak Sangha(JJSS) group helps in conducting many socially relevant jobs that are effective and useful for the disabled lives and living standards. The group is registered and is aimed at assisting and uplifting the poor and downtrodden people in our society. This Sangha is based on the Golden Rule, ¡§Treat others as you would like to be treated¡¨. JJSS aims to close this gap by collecting resources both in cash and kind from around the world and distributing it to the really deserving people. It has performed its work in districts like Nayagarh & Khurda.
The trust area of the sangha includes primary health care, family welfare, reproductive and child prevention of HIV/AIDS, women and child development, education both formal and non-formal, ƒnwater and sanitation, management of natural resources, micro-finance and livelihoods promotion, disaster management, infrastructure development in rural areas and grass-root level NGOs/CBOs empowerment.
Programmes on various topics are covered and are conducted in large account. The Yoga Training programme was conducted by the organisation for the village people at Chakeisiani. Women development programmes awareness generation, group formation, leadership development, skill training and income generation programmes for women are conducted in various occasions. The leadership camps form an important part of the SANGHA¡¦s activities to promote grassroots women leaders.
Various community based rehabilitation project were undertaken by the organisaton. Health issues (malaria, HIV, cancer and many others) and meetings on them have been carried on large accounts. Social problems like child labour were also equally channelised by the group. Voluntary training for unemployed masses were also carried out that included handicraft training, forestry and nursery rising.
Though the group works in the particular district of Nayagarh yet it has given support and help to other parts of Orissa. A group can be identified by it's self less activities and not just by the heavy investment on projects.
