Volkswagen Group India has launched mechatronics apprenticeship programme in Pune. The three-year programme is based on German dual system of vocational education and training. The programme will provide employability in production, maintenance, planning, quality assurance and research and development. The existing Volkswagen academy training centre is being for the training. Volkswagen Group chief representative India and president and managing director, Volkswagen India, John Chacko said, “The need of the hour is to have industry-ready people to take care of the challenges.”
Zensar gets $4-million worth business
Zensar Technologies recently announced that it has secured over $4-million worth business from existing Zensar clients in collaboration with Akibia. Akibia’s US and European services in data centre and information security services were merged with Zensar’s remote infrastructure management service after the acquisition of Akibia by Zensar in 2010. Chicago-based Chief Executive of Zensar’s Banking, Insurance and Infrastructure Management business and Vice-Chairman of Akibia Vivek Gupta said,” Since the launch of our end-to-end service line in April this year, we have secured over $4 million business from and have a pipeline of over $10 million for 2011.
