New Delhi: AIMA held its 16th Convocation at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. 2296 students were awarded Diplomas at this Convocation in Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management and Post Graduate Certificate in Management. The chief guest, Dr Narendra Jadhav, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India handed over the credentials to the students.
At the ceremony, Dr Jadhav, shared nine principles for addressing challenges and exploiting opportunities with the students which includes aiming high, burning desire to get to the aim, hard work, try to be a problem solver, time management, quality considerations, respect for parents, social commitment and attitude.
To recognize the important contribution that academicians make to the country, Prof J Philip, President XIME, Bangalore was awarded AIMA Kewal Nohria Award for Academic Leadership in Management Education 2011. He is seen as an outstanding teacher, an accomplished educational administrator and an iconic institution builder. While receiving the award, Prof Philip thanked AIMA for bestowing upon him the award.
4 Fellows were awarded Fellowship to outstanding Management Professionals with illustrious management careers and significant contributions to the management profession to their credit outside the sphere of employment. 5 Gold medals were conferred to meritorious students. AIMA initiated Phd (Business Administration) program started in Jan 2000 in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University, this year 14 PhD awardees from AMU were felicitated by AIMA.
Mr Gautam Thapar, President AIMA, Chairman and CEO –The Avantha Group gave a hearty welcome to all present. He congratulated all the students and awardees and appreciated on AIMA's initiative on e learning mode of education. He was of the view that true success is changing something for the better. This world has been shaped by people who have done different things and those who have done things differently. He addressed the students that they could help the country achieve inclusive and sustainable growth through innovation and responsible management.
