Orissa Higher Education Minister stresses on need to to improvise modes of quality education


Berhampur: In a zone wise review meeting of principals (colleges) of Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal district at the Khalikote Autonomous College, it has been stressed by the State Higher Education Minister Badri Narayan Patro to improvise the modes of quality education here on Wednesday.
Advising the lecturers Sri Patro said, “As students of Orissa are staying much behind at the national level the lectures and teachers must change their methods of teaching according to the present needs. They have to be regular in their classes and strict actions will be taken on any unpleasant condition.” There will be certain changes in the examination pattern and a list of the number of colleges is made where students entrust cheating and action will be taken against college authorities as well as against the principal,  he informed.
Attending the meeting administrative secretary of the Higher Education department Chandra Sekher Sahu suggested to make a core committee which will conduct observation meetings in every week and month regarding the education systems of the colleges. Since the results accept 5 colleges in the State are not impressible the lecturers and principal of the colleges have to look after it, he opined.   
At least 126 teachers from various colleges of the above mentioned districts have participated in the discussion for the distribution of quality education and of the staff pattern, Study curriculum, examination, U.G.C., attendance of the students and teachers and about the future plans of the colleges. Among other guests State Higher education consultant P.C. Achariya, Joint secretary Anirudha Rout, Regional Director Kanakmanjari Mishra were present at the meeting and the principal of Khalikote autonomous college Surendra Nath Behera presented the vote of thanks.
