Breast cancer awareness programme held at Panjab University


Chandigarh: Keeping in mind the need for awareness regarding health and health related issues, a breast cancer awareness programme was organized today at Panjab University by Rani Breast Cancer Trust (RBCT) an N.G.O working for the cause of breast cancer. With over 300 students attending the programme at the campus today, Panab University served as a perfect platform to spread awareness for the cause amongst the youngsters.
The function was inaugurated by Professor B.S. Brar, D.U.I and Professor. A.S.Ahluwalia , DSW . Many  others professors from various departments and officials from the university were also present on the occasion including the chief medical officer, Dr.Dhawan and Dr.Bhullar from the Health Centre . Professor Manju Jaidka from the Department of English who was also present on the occasion said, " it is hart warming to see the response my the students. It is important to sensitize the youngsters towards the health related issues and the awareness programme today has been successful in the noble cause."
Bittu Sandhu who is heading the RBCT  expressed her happiness at the overwhelming response received from the students and the excellent arrangements made by the Panjab University . RBCT has been organizing several events for the noble cause.
